Alexandre Kostanda was born in Poland in 1921 before moving to Vallauris in 1929. He trained with Louis Giraud from 1936 to 1938.During the war, he taught ceramics at Biot before becoming the teacher of 4 founders of Accolay.He opened his own studio in 1953. Despite the influences of Vallauris (especially the light colors), he prefers a more rustic ceramic with natural shades. His decor were often painted by his mother.
